It would only take me 40 minutes or so to get to York. Never been to the raceway though. I'd be up for a meet depending when of course.

sounds good, when i get my dates organized etc i'll post in the regions section to see what everyone is doing.

regardless, the link to york drag strip is:
http://www.yorkraceway.org.uk/
worth going to have a look at the motors and good to watch some cars drag. More fun to do it yourself though :D

I became a Santa Pod convert last year. I went to the Main Event and FIA finals. Awesome :-)

And yes, the thought of having a go myself has been running through my head

Thanks for the link, I will check it out.

yeah pod is a good track, arguably best in UK???

I always run better at york though on my street tires, prob cause track is less sticky?? I dunno, ill have to see what I run this year. PB at York was 13.45 but then did suspension and k&N and ran 13.24 at pod, hoping to break into 12s at York :D

Chirs are you over my way, im pretty much in leeds/bradford area?? or are you the other way 40 mins from york. Btw, had a look at your car on previous posts, nice motor mate :)

Cheers! I'm just over the Humber bridge on the South side, Barton on Humber, so I'm sort of across from you.

Good running on the track, 12's would be cool.

Did I read that you were fabricating some sub-frame connectors? They might be a big help....

indeed, my father should have them made up from the diagrams and measurements I did, i've opted for the tubular bar ones, not as heavy as 2"x2" box :) Will stop chassis twisting too. Next is a custom adjustable torque arm with body mount so it stops twisting the trans. Pics to come

Let me know how it goes. I'd be interested. Would have to be cheapish though! Especially since my girl friends lodgers trashed her flat!

I can always do Reading and Santa Pod, anywhere in the South, pretty much up to Leicestershire. My '79 is in pieces at the moment so maybe nothing this month!

Sounds like a good plan to meet up. I doubt that I'll be in a nice V8 by then but still nice to put some names to faces.

Does anyone know the date of the first Yank car meet at Santa pod BTW?

Thanks

Derek

EDIT I have just checked the another thread, to see that santa pod show is 1 - 2 May 2010 :-)
